Typical Saigon Traffic

Travel to Vietnam is not complete without crossing the street. Crossing the street in Saigon or Hanoi resembles a modern day Frogger. You hop from open area to open area on the road trying to make it across before you get squished. There are over a million motorbikes in Hanoi, and probably more in Saigon and crosswalks have not caught on in many parts of the country. Pedestrians Tips to accomplish such a feat:

  1. Show no fear
  2. Look forward -the bikes will weave around you
  3. Keep moving, stopping is the sign of death
