Study Spanish in Guatemala

Beautiful Antigua

Beautiful Antigua, Guatemala

Travel to Guatemala is not only gorgeous but cheap. It is one of the cheapest, or I should say, best-valued places on the planet to study full Spanish immersion. If you don’t believe me, do a Google search yourself.  For the price of a pair of Lucky jeans. You can get the following:

  • private Spanish lessons 4 hours a day, 5 days a week
  • Host family accommodations for 7 days
  • 3 meals a day for 6 days a week.

I have seen prices in other countries (Nicaragua, Ecuador) for $175- $250 for basically the same program, but you can do this in Guatemala for $85- $120 a week. Not all locations are created equal though.

Spanish in Antigua will run you $150-$180 a week  *This is where I studied on December 2008- highly recommended school and city.

Spanish in San Pedro on Lake Atitlan will cost $80-$115

Spanish in Xela comes in about $150-$180

As I recall, there might be a Spanish School behind me in the picture

Check out another post I made on Guatemala: Living High on the Hog. Guatemala on $9 a day.

Why not travel to Guatemala today?
