One thing a visitor must do whether they can afford it or not and to stop inside the hallowed halls of Galleries LaFayette, the most elegant and shi-shi department store Paris has to offer. Built about 120 years ago, this place is pure sin for the shop-aholic. You will be seduced by the perfume and exotic handbags on the ground floor, entranced by the pret a porter on levels 2 and 3 and swayed by the lingerie on level 4.
Also, bring your heavy paying guns because brands like Chanel, Vera Wang, and Hermes don’t go cheap especially with the euro dollar exchange but you can at least be glad that the store has it’s own affordable private label aptly called Galleries LaFayette.
Right now, it is Christmas and the store is bathed in lights, red and white silks and a fir tree envelopes the space stretching high into 4 + levels of this too naughty to be nice apparel haven.
